Congratulations to Vanderbilt’s fantastic Shan Foster for being named SEC Player of the Year. Foster’s electrifying performances on the court this year coupled with his work in the classroom and in the community make him well-deserving of this honor.
It’s a four-peat for Vandy–Commodore Derrick Byars won last year, Dan Langhi in 2000 and Will Perdue in 1988.

Vanderbilt knows how to throw a party – and we threw a great one today at the Student Life Center to welcome Chancellor Zeppos and his family into their new roles in our world. Though I can’t give you any of delicious flavored popcorn, Greek salad, hummus or other treats that nearly 1,500 members of the Commodore Nation enjoyed today at the event, I can give you the real goods – video of remarks by the chancellor, Chairman Ingram and our student leaders, some great photos and news stories. Enjoy.

Over 100 college journalists from approximately 40 universities are swarming the Vanderbilt campus today through Saturday to learn the ins and outs of capturing audio and video for the Web. The event is being organized by The Center for Innovation in College Media, which happens to have its headquarters right here at Vanderbilt. If you’re in Nashville, be on the lookout: they’re splitting up into teams and will be scouring the campus and Nashville in general for Web-worthy news. Learn more.
As promised, here is video from today’s announcement.
