Vandy got a shout out on The Simpsons Sunday night, sources tell me. It went a little something like this:

Homer and Marge are on a private jet whose pilot has passed out. Previously in the episode, Marge hired Homer a Life Coach to help his confidence. The following conversation ensues:

Homer’s Life Coach: Alright Homer, what is it that you’re attempting to do? Win over a difficult client?

Homer: I’m trying to land a plane with no experience.

Homer’s Life Coach: Homer, I got to tell you, I’m not very good. I went to the Harvard of the South.

Homer: Duke? That’s good!

Homer’s Life Coach: Not Duke.

Homer: Vanderbilt?

Homer’s Life Coach: A little further South. Don’t make me say it.

At this point apparently the plane collided with a hot air balloon so viewers didn’t get to hear the punchline. We’re looking forward to the next episode, where Homer meets someone from the Vanderbilt of the North. (Harvard? Princeton? Yale?)
