Vanderbilt nurses offer new pregnancy guidance

A new program called “Centering Pregnancy” has come to Nashville. The first of its kind in Tennessee, this program focuses on guiding moms-to-be through their pregnancies. The program is run by certified nurse-midwives from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing and brings together “future moms” with “moms already” to help demysitfy the pregnancy and childbirth process. The “Centering Pregnancy” groups meet weekly to monitor the babies’ growth, discuss pregnancy issues, and learn new activities (like pre-natal yoga).
