Virtual school teaches students about segregated Nashville

Nashville Vice Mayor Howard Gentry shared his memories of life in Nashville before desegration. As a child growing up in Nashville during segregation, Gentry would not have been allowed in many Nashville places, including Centennial Park. On Feb 15 Gentry videoconferenced with classrooms across the state as part of Vanderbilt’s Virtual School. Students ranging from kindergarten through college will participated in this event.
