Singing For Life CD offers Ugandan music and AIDS awareness

A new album of uplifting music from Uganda is being released by Smithsonian Folkways Recordings as part of the effort to combat HIV/AIDS. Greg Barz, assistant professor of ethnomusicology at Vanderbilt University, has compiled the Ugandan music as a way of demonstrating he power of music and art in the fight against AIDS. Profits from the album will go to organizations fighting AIDS in Africa.
