I couldn’t agree with you more! As a fourth grade teacher, I am sometimes appalled at the lack of handwriting skills that some of my students have, and am equally appalled at the lack of writing materials we are given to continue their development! I’ve even started buying handwriting workbooks from http://www.dedicatedteacher.com for my students (I buy them in ebook format so I can reprint the exercises). I just don’t think we emphasize handwriting enough, since good handwriting leads to good spelling and grammar, as well as a better understanding of the English language.

Anyways, thanks for the great post!
